What is a BCC Text Message?

A BCC text message or blind carbon copy text message is a mass text that is sent to a group of contacts where only the sender can see recipients and their replies.

When someone replies to a blind copy SMS message, only the sender receives the reply.

Can You Send a BCC Text?

Yes. Using a BCC text app like TextSpot you can send a blind group message.

How to Send a BCC Text Message

Sending a BCC text message and a group BCC text message are the same thing. Without a group, you are just sending an individual message. Using a mass text app you can easily send BCC texts to a bunch of people. Here’s how with TextSpot:

1. After you have signed up for a free TextSpot account or are logged in to your TextSpot account, go to “Groups” on the left side.
2. Once you are at the Groups page, select the “Create Group” button if you don’t have a group to send a BCC text to already. A popup will open up for you to enter a Group Name and Description for the group. Select “Create Group” again when you are ready to create the new group.
   
3. Your new group will be added to the list of groups. Select your new group in the list to start adding contacts to your group.
   
4. Once you are in a group select the “Add Contact” button. A popup will open up and you can select from existing contacts or add a new contact.
   
5. Once you have added contacts to your group you can now send or schedule BCC mass text messages to your group. Go to “Dashboard” and select “To Group” under “Send a Message” then select your group name under the dropdown.
   
6. Select when to send your group message. You can schedule BCC text messages for the future.
   

That’s it. You’ve now scheduled or sent a BCC mass text to a group.

All the contacts in your group will receive an individual text message in an individual thread. It will not show the other recipients in their phone’s texting app.

Can Someone Reply to a BCC Text?

Yes. The contacts that receive your blind copy text message can reply and those individual replies will be sent to your TextSpot inbox (coming soon). You can then continue a one-on-one conversation with each of your contacts.
